Letter from the Board: Key Fob Now Required for Tennis and Pickleball Court Access

Hello Waterstone Neighbors,

As you may have heard in our past board meetings or read in the meeting minutes, we are in the process of installing a key fob lock system at the tennis and pickleball courts. The board feels it is important to do so for a number of reasons. We continue to have the occasional tennis or pickleball players who do not live in Waterstone. We have also had a number of recent incidents where the courts were being used after hours for teenage parties and other activities. We know that the key fob is not foolproof, but we also know that installing this lock system will help eliminate those kinds of issues by securing the courts. The key fob will also provide a very simple way to identify a Waterstone homeowner on the courts.

The process of running electricity to the court gate is in progress. The key fob lock system should be installed in the next several weeks. The key fob that you currently use at the pool will also work at the courts. We will not need to issue a new key fob.

We plan to set the hours for the lock to open and close by the hours the courts are available to the tennis players. We expect the pickleball players to still adhere to the current hours for pickleball play. Nothing has changed for pickleball play. Court hours remain as follows:

Tennis courts: 6:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m.

Pickleball courts: 8:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.

As a reminder, guests must be accompanied by a Waterstone resident at all times.

If you are a player and someone comes to use the courts without their fob, we ask that you do not interrupt your play just to open the gate for these residents. Tennis players will need to enter together with the homeowner to gain access. As is our practice at the pool, we ask our homeowners to bring their key fobs to the pool in order to enter. In like fashion, we are asking that our court players bring their key fob to the courts to gain entrance. Moreover, no one should prop the court gate open once you have entered the court area to play, which would defeat the purpose of this new fob system.

If you do not have a key fob, one may be obtained by contacting Anna at Kirkpatrick Management: acardenas@ekirkpatrick.com or (317) 558-5380. You can obtain a 2nd FOB for your household for $25.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to make the amenities at our community safe and enjoyable for all residents.

Sincerely,

Waterstone Board of Directors
